Connected Class.... do you have one?

Students today...

Did you know?...

How our Students Learn....

Do we teach in a way that we are actually reaching them, preparing and equipping them for what their future will look like? Or are we teaching them to pass a test? This video and many MANY others just like it have been a call to action for me. We must do something to prepare our students for what THEIR future will look like, even if we dont understand it!

Welcome to 7th grade!

Welcome to 7th grade math at MMMS. This year we will be working with integers, linear equations, functions, fractions, decimals, percents, ratios, proportions, and many other exciting concepts. I look forward to a FABULOUS year!

Expectations

You can expect me:
• To be fair
• To respect you
• To encourage and answer questions
• To help you when you are having difficulty understanding
• To be in contact with your parent/guardian

I will expect you:
• To follow directions
• To be honest
• To show respect to me and others
• To have required materials when you come to class
• To always give your best effort
• To let me know when you are having difficulty so that I can help

Supplies

Everyday you will need to bring these materials to my class:
A pencil
A red pen/pencil
A spiral notebook for notes
Notebook paper

Notes

You will be expected to take notes each day that a new skill is introduced. These notes will be kept in a math spiral. During each six-week grading period you will turn in your notes and receive a test grade. You are responsible for recording all the information given in class notes. If you are absent, it is your responsibility to secure notes that you missed along with any assignment that may have been given in your absence.

Assignments

You will be given an assignment almost every class day. Assignments are to be completed neatly. Students who do not have completed assignments at the required time will be required to stay after school as stated in the team letter. Your parents are responsible for transportation in the event that you will have to stay after school due to missing or incomplete assignments.
